Wow the year is clicking by so fast! I hope that your student has realized the benefits and enrichment that come from being a GREAT reader.

Becoming a great reader takes pracitce, and practicing reading takes a tremedous investment in time. By investing time in teaching our students to become better readers, we give them the foundation for success in any field that they may pursue in the future.  As parents, you can help them become better readers by reading with them, or to them, everyday.

I want to encourage parents to make sure that your student is reading every night for atleast 20 to 30 minutes.  The students have a reading log that will be turned in every Friday and should be signed by the parent. These assignments are designed to give students the much needed paractice that it takes to become GREAT readers.

Open a book- You never know where it will take you!

Reading is a skill that can benefit the students each and everyday for the rest of their lives.

A note about Mrs. Segraves:

I have a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from Tarleton State University, as well as a Masters of Education.  While at Tarleton State University, I played volleyball and served as assistant coached for the University's volleyball team.

This is my second year teaching at S.C. Lee. I love it here!  I am very excited about the new school year and getting to know our new students

YOUR FUTURE IS WORTH INVESTING THE TIME TO BECOME A BETTER READER -  IF NOT A GREAT READER. INVEST THE TIME!
