English Language Learner's Program

English Language Learner's Program

What is the English Language Learner's Program?

CCISD has an English Learner's (EL) program for students where a language other than English is spoken in the home or who speak a language other than English. If a child hears and/or speaks a language other than English, they may be ELs. The program helps ELs grow their English language skills. English instruction in all subjects focus on developing English in the four language domains: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.

Copperas Cove ISD ELL Program Mission

The mission of Copperas Cove ISD’s English Language Learner's Program is to provide effective English language instruction utilizing high yield language acquisition strategies in conjunction with the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) to support English Language Learners. Our goal is that all ELLs will be academically and linguistically proficient by participating in a challenging and rigorous curriculum in order to acquire the language skills necessary to graduate ready for college and prepared for a career and life in our global and multicultural society.
