Students in Mrs. Straley’s class engaged in building and extending AABB patterns using a diverse array of hands-on manipulatives. They then participated in a friendly competition to determine who could create the longest pattern. Some students even attempted to match the length of their patterns to their height. This approach effectively demonstrates real-world mathematics in an enjoyable manner.

Congratulations to our students in Mrs. Wilkerson’s who recently received the Positive Office Referral. These individuals exhibited exemplary behavior, made commendable choices, and demonstrated outstanding leadership and kindness.

It is winter in Art class, where Mrs. Hinds, our art paraprofessional, guided Ms. Aponte's class in creating mosaic snowmen. Following this creative activity, the students had the opportunity to play with some snow.

Mae Stevens ELA extends heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful partners at HEB in Copperas Cove for their generous donation of milk and cookies for our Family Holiday Literacy Night held in December. Mrs. Zimmer-Clark created a poster, which our young Bulldawgs decorated with their thumbprints as a token of appreciation for your contributions. Thank you for your support!

Students in Mrs. Janidlo’s and Ms. Jones’ classes engaged in a creative activity that incorporated winter weather themes, specifically snowflakes, to enhance their counting and writing skills.

To commemorate the conclusion of their winter weather study week, students in Mrs. Janidlo's and Ms. Jones's class engaged in an impromptu Texas-style snowball fight! Let it snow, let it snow!

Students in Mrs. Collier's class are currently focusing on the letter of the week, which is the lowercase "t." They are practicing writing this letter alongside their names. Excellent work by our little Bulldawgs!

We invite you to join us if you have not yet attended an orientation session this school year. f you are unable to attend at the scheduled date and time, please reach out to Sandra Ziehlke, Parent & Community Outreach Coordinator, at 254-547-8289 or via email at ziehlkes@ccisd.com to arrange an appointment that accommodates your schedule.

In Mrs. Janidlo’s classroom, our little Bulldawgs always strive to be a good F.R I.E.N.D.! Signed by their handprint.

Santa's little elves in Mrs. Zimmer-Clark’s were working really hard at getting their parent gifts ready.

There is always a sense of enjoyment in Ms. Cooper's and Ms. Amagliani's classes. The festive atmosphere is enhanced by the delightful use of festive glasses, whether indoors or outdoors. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas from Ms. Cooper's class!

Oh no! Students in Mrs. Janidlo’s and Ms. Jones’ classes have discovered that the Alphabet Gingerbread Men have escaped and are hiding in Room 29! Our industrious Bulldawg engineers have been diligently crafting cozy houses to entice these elusive gingerbread men back into the open, where they can assist us in practicing our letter sounds!

Mrs. Anderson’s, Mrs. Helbing’s, and Ms. Reyes' class enjoyed a festive activity creating reindeer from triangles!

Mrs. Janidlo’s and Ms. Jones’ class experienced some sensory fun making gingerbread playdoh creations! Not only did the classroom smell delightful, but student's also used their imaginations to co-create their own takes on holiday treats. They practiced sharing materials and giving peer feedback in meaningful ways.

Students in Mrs. Anderson's, Mrs. Helbing's, and Ms. Reyes' class take pleasure in matching shapes and colors for their Christmas tree during center activities!

Students in Mrs. Hunter’s read the book “How to Catch a Reindeer”. Students were then challenged to use the materials provided to create a home for their reindeer this Christmas. They were each given a plastic reindeer, popsicle sticks, and pom-poms. They built a structure to place their reindeer in. Students took their reindeers home and encouraged to find items at their house to build a different type of home for their reindeer.

Congratulations to these students in Mrs. Wilkerson’s class who received the Positive Office Referral. These individuals exhibited exemplary behavior, made commendable choices, and demonstrated outstanding leadership and kindness.

Here are the photos from our Family Literacy Night, which took place this past Tuesday. Our students had a wonderful time visiting with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and other areas in the campus, creating lasting memories throughout the evening.

Kathleen McDonald, a former grandparent of our school community at Mae Stevens ELA, generously donated six Bluey backpacks, each filled with a variety of Bluey-themed items, to six of our students. Teachers were invited to nominate a deserving student from their class, and from those nominations, six names were drawn at random.
Our fortunate winners are:
Bryan Todom from Ms. Aponte's class
Charlene Robertson Wright from Mrs. Straley's class
Kolt Clemons from Mrs. Papson's class
Juan Castro from Ms. Hunt's class
Zade Kirk from Mrs. Janidlo's class
Evangaline Frank from Mrs. Collier's class
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. McDonald for her generous contribution to our students.
