Parent Involvement Program

Parent Involvement In Our Schools

Parents are encouraged to be a part of their child's education. Parents can attend parent classes to help with issues in the areas of child rearing and academics. The Parent and Community Outreach coordinators will host most of the classes offered, however, in some cases these classes will be hosted by teachers or as part of offerings from organizations. To request a class topic, contact the coordinator at your child’s school. Other events such as Family Nights provide chances for the parents and students to work together to complete activities. Teachers are available at these events to help or answer questions.

Volunteering is another way of being involved in a child's education. Community members and parents are invited to be involved. Contact the schools directly if you would like more information. All volunteers are required to fill out a name-based background form.

The Title I schools are required to involve parents in the annual review of the school’s Parent and Family Engagement Policy and School Parent Compact as well as asking for suggestions on how Title I Parent and Family Engagement funds are spent. The members of the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) assist with making these decisions.

Visit Region 16 for information on the Title I Statewide Initiative.

District Parent Advisory Council

The District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) is a group of parents from each Title I school. These parents offer thoughtful insight of what parents want versus what teachers believe parents want. They review the District Parent and Family Engagement Policy (Spanish). The members also provide input on how to use funds set aside for parent activities, provide ideas to grow the parent and family program, and bring questions from parents to the group. The school PAC also reviews the school’s policy and parent/teacher compact.

Email Shelley Brown or call at 254-547-1227 or the Parent and Community Outreach Coordinator (PCOC) on your child’s school for more information.

Parent and Family Engagement Contacts

Who to Contact

If you have questions about being involved within the Copperas Cove Independent School District, please do not hesitate to contact any of our 11 schools.  However, our Title I schools have dedicated staff members that you can contact directly for a variety of reasons.  Please see the list below for those contacts.

Throughout the year, the schools will conduct parent classes and assists with volunteers.  They also ensure that the Parent and Family Engagement Program meets the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements.  We encourage you to be involved!
