Fairview/Jewell Elementary enacted its standard response protocol this afternoon, due to a downed power line in the parking lot. All students were dismissed from the campus without incident. At this time, we have no reason to believe that the school day tomorrow will need to be altered.

Fairview/Jewell parents, families and staff, At approximately 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, during dismissal, the administration at Fairview/Jewell Elementary School and the Copperas Cove Independent School District were alerted to a power line down in the parking lot on the Fairview side of our campus. We immediately enacted our standard response protocol and redirected our dismissal procedures in order to further ensure student and staff safety. We have contacted the appropriate agencies to restore the power line to its appropriate position. This line does not supply our campus with electricity, so at this time, there is no reason to believe that the school day tomorrow, Wednesday, March 5th, will be altered. Graphic with CCISD logo. SC Lee & Williams/Ledger parents, families and staff, On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at approximately 3:05 p.m., the administrations at S.C. Lee Jr. High School, Williams/Ledger Elementary School and the Copperas Cove Independent School District were notified that a car accident near the campus caused a power outage to the campus. Our campus immediately worked to implement our standard response protocol. While this power outage did disrupt the end of our normal school day, it did not pose a risk to our students. As a result of the accident, Courtney Lane is closed near FM 116, which is requiring CCISD buses and parents to take an alternate route to the campus to transport students home. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions for our campus. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you, Dr. Brent Hawkins, Superintendent of Schools, Copperas Cove ISD
