COPPERAS COVE – For the second time in three years, one of the top high school dancers in Texas calls Copperas Cove home.
The Texas Dance Educators Association recently named Copperas Cove High School senior Eva Revilla an All-State Dancer.
Revilla is a four-year member of the Copperettes dance team at Copperas Cove High School. This year, Revilla was named captain of the Copperettes team.
“Being selected as a Texas All State Dancer means so much to me,” Revilla said. “Dance has shaped who I am. It’s taught me discipline, confidence and how to push past limits. I’m incredibly honored to be recognized at this level, and I’m grateful for everyone who believed in me. This is a moment I’ll never forget.”
Revilla is the second CCHS dancer to be selected as a TDEA All-State dancer, after Annilyn Rowberry earned the recognition during the 2023-24 school year.
“Eva’s achievement places her among the very best in Texas,” said Heather Owens, Director of the Copperettes dance team and dance teacher at Copperas Cove High School. “Eva shines in both her artistry and her leadership, embodying everything it means to be a Copperette. We are incredibly proud of her and are excited to have her represent not only our dance program, but our entire district.”
There are only 200 All-State spots available, which dancers from schools across Texas compete for throughout the fall.
The Texas Dance Educators Association Convention is scheduled to be held in Houston in January. Dancers will have choreography sessions with acclaimed Houston dance instructor Claire Rogers Lewis, as well as other opportunities for college recruitment which showcase the talent and dedication of dancers like Revilla.
