Our CCHS "Counselor Spotlight" this week shines on the amazing 10th grade Counselor Amy Trimm:
What is one of your favorite quotes?
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." — Mahatma Gandhi
What is one of your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.
What is something that makes you smile?
Seeing my kids succeed! They are a true inspiration to me, also when former students recognize me around town and take the time to share updates about their lives. Seeing their personal growth and hearing their stories always brings a smile to my face.
What do you love most about your job?
Every day brings something new. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is running into former students and seeing the incredible things they've accomplished since graduating. Witnessing their growth and success is rewarding and inspiring.
What made you decide to pursue School Counseling?
I've always felt drawn to the field of counseling, but it became clear to me in high school that I wanted to be a school counselor specifically. During that time in my life, I faced several life-changing challenges. I realized that if I could help even one student navigate similar experiences, I would find meaning in my work. I want all my students to know they ALWAYS have my support!
Who is one of your heroes/role models?
My heroes are my children, Taylor and Tristan. They'll never fully understand the strength and resilience they helped me find during some of life's most challenging moments.
What is your favorite coping skill for stress?
A long nap and quality time with my family help me recharge. When I need some quiet time to myself, I find relaxation in reading.

Copperas Cove High School is joining the nationwide movement to stand against bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 15th, we’re asking all students and staff to wear ORANGE to show your support for Unity Day—the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month.
Let’s flood our hallways with orange to show that Cove cares and that we stand together for kindness and unity.
"Unity Day is Wednesday, October 15th!
Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in October 2011, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange."
